Schools Workshops

Each year the Nenagh Lions club fund a series of lectures / plays in the secondary schools which deal with the topics of drug / alcohol misuse, suicide, peer pressure ….etc.

The club feels that this is a very worthwhile fixture on the calendar and is well received by students and teachers alike.

In March 2014, Chief Prison Officer of Mountjoy, John Dooley spoke to approx 350 third year students on the topic of drug and alcohol awareness in the CBS hall. It was very well reveived.

In October, Michael O'Sullivan of the humourfit theatre spoke to all fifth years on the dangers of speeding, drinking and driving.

And finally, in December 2014, we had a presentation from the HSE to parents of second years students from the three schools on drug awareness and the signs to look out for. This was a well worth funding and the feedback from the parents was invaluable.
